Another Christmas has come and gone. Santa and Mrs. Claus are relaxing after the big push to fulfill Santa's mission- to make marvelous toys and deliver them to all the children of the world on Christmas Eve. The elves are tucked away for their three-month sleep. The parrots and the dogs are settled comfortably in the castle, and both doors have been securely locked. Everything is quiet- maybe a little too quiet.

As Santa enters the stables to brush down the raindeer, to his astonishment he finds them gone. "Quick, we have to call Lon!" he exclaims. "He takes our interests to heart like no one else," says Buddy, Santa's right-hand man. "He will know exactly how to handle this disaster!"

And so he does. In three short days Lon lines up twenty-one topflight experts, including his daughters Tiffany (a forensic crime scene photographer) and Stefanie (a computer hacker), plus a slew of scientists, detectives, bounty hunters, and the formidable services of the FBI's crime lab facilities. He then enlists Santa's help in gaining the cooperation of prime ministers and presidents around the globe as he and his hand-picked team travel to China, Alaska, India, Australia, Africa, Ireland, Switzerland, Russia, Japan, Argentina, and Central America, sniffing out leads, interrogating suspects, and closing in on the master criminal, "Scrooge."
